About Course

Hi! I’m Timothy, your instructor and creator of Thatch.Academy!

For over a decade, I worked as an audio engineer, recording projects for artists like Kid Cudi and members of Primus, Tom Waits, Santana, and others. Along the way, I taught myself how to build websites, starting with the studio’s site, then building websites for musicians. Over the years, I’ve built and managed over 100 websites. Some of these have generated over $1 million in sales, while others helped secure $300,000 in investor funding.

I created this course to share the knowledge I’ve gained through years of trial and error—countless hours spent Googling, watching YouTube tutorials, and digging through forums. I want to save you from that frustration! This course is designed to be approachable, well-organized, and practical. You’ll learn how to build a fully functional WordPress site from scratch without needing to write code! (You’ll learn some basic HTML/CSS coding, which is simple and fun.)

You’ll gain a solid understanding of the technology behind the web, from domain names and hosting to server setup and security, to installing WordPress, designing your site, and adding plugins for functionality and marketing. You’ll also get guidance on staying organized and finding help when you need it. Plus, you’ll have access to weekly office hours and a private community for ongoing support.

By the end, you’ll have a complete website ready to launch—your own corner of the internet, built layer-by-layer with confidence. I’m excited to guide you through this process and can’t wait to see what you create!
